How to create and customize essay questions in Wooflash?

Essay questions on Wooflash allow learners to express their understanding in their own words, providing deeper insight into their reasoning. This type of question is ideal for evaluating critical thinking, written explanation, and problem-solving skills.

Creating an Essay Question

Enter your course and click Create a question (or Create my first question if you haven’t created a question yet). Then select the Essay question type under Questions.

Importing Questions

You can import questions from a file or from Wooclap, among other sources. This way, you don’t have to recreate all your questions from scratch.

Customizing Your Essay

Once your Essay question is created, start by writing your question (1). There’s no need to define a correct answer here, as the goal is to understand the students’ reasoning in their own words.

You can also add optional feedback or additional explanations that will appear once learners have answered the question (2).

You can format your text or insert audio, an image, or a video using the formatting bar that appears when you click on a field.

Under Options, you can add a tag to your question.

Studying an Essay

When learners review an Essay question, they will be prompted to write a text in order to answer it. Once they have written their text, they can click Answer to finalize their response.
