How to create and customize Short Answer questions in Wooflash?

The Short Answer format lets teachers test students’ knowledge of a concept from the course. Students must answer using a single word.

Creating a Short Answer question

Go to your course and click Create a question (or Create my first question if you haven’t created any yet). Then select the Short Answer question type under Questions.

Importing questions

You can import questions from a file or from Wooclap, among other options. This way, you don’t need to recreate all your questions from scratch.

Customizing your Short Answer

Once your Short Answer question is created, you can start by writing your question (1). Then enter the possible correct answers (2). You can add several answers to account for synonyms or different spellings of a word.

Finally, you can add optional feedback or additional explanations that will appear once learners have answered the question (3).

You can format your text or insert audio, an image, or a video using the formatting bar that appears when you click in a field.

Under Options, you will see four additional settings for your question:

  • Ignore case (uppercase and lowercase)

  • Ignore accents

  • Ignore punctuation

  • Add a tag to your question

Reviewing a Short Answer

Learners will need to answer the question with one or more words. After entering their answer, they can click Answer. Learners will then see the correct answer displayed, along with any feedback you’ve provided.
