How to create and customize Categorization questions in Wooflash

The Categorization question in Wooflash allows learners to sort items into different categories, helping to improve understanding and retention of concepts. It engages learners interactively by prompting them to think about the relationships and differences between the given items. This type of question is effective for reinforcing active and structured learning.

Creating a Categorization question

Go to your course and click Create a question (or Create my first question if you haven’t created any questions yet). Then select the Categorization question type under Questions.

Importing questions

You can import questions from a file or from Wooclap, among other sources. This way, you don’t need to recreate all your questions from scratch.

Customizing your Categorization question

Once your Categorization question is created, start by writing your question (1). Then enter the different categories and the items to be categorized (2). You can always add more categories by clicking Add a category. Categories or items can be deleted using the trash icons on the right.

Finally, you can add optional feedback or additional explanations that will appear once learners have answered the question (3).

You can also format your text or insert audio, an image, or a video using the formatting toolbar that appears when you click a field.

Under Options, you can add a tag to your question.

Reviewing a Categorization question

Learners can click on the different categories and then choose the items that belong to each. Once the items are selected, they can click Validate. After all items are categorized, learners can click Submit to finalize their answer.
