The Math Expression question type allows students to answer questions using mathematical language.

Create a Math Expression question

Enter your course and click Create a question (or Create my first question if you haven’t created any yet). Then select the Math Expression question type under Questions.

Import questions

You can import questions from a file or from Wooclap, among others. This means you don’t need to recreate all your questions from scratch.

Customize the Math Expression question

Once your question is created, you can start by writing your question (1). Then enter the expected answer (2). You can also add mathematical and physical symbols using the buttons located above the answer input field (3).

Finally, you can add optional feedback or additional explanations that will be displayed once learners have answered the question (4).

You can format your text or insert audio, images, or videos using the formatting toolbar that appears when you click inside the Question or Feedback fields. This also allows you to add an equation to these fields.

Under Options, you can add tags to your question.

Review the Math Expression question

When learners review a Math Expression question, they will have access to the same options as in the Answer field. They can therefore answer the question directly without needing to know LaTeX language.
