A flashcard is a double-sided card used to memorize information through active recall. You can present a question or hint on one side and the answer on the other, making progressive learning easier through spaced repetition.
Create a Flashcard
Enter your course and click on Create a question (or Create my first question if you haven’t created any questions yet). Then select the Flashcard question type under Questions.
Create a Flashcard with AI
You can also create your questions using Wooflash’s AI. To do this, click on Generate questions with AI. Choose your source, then select Flashcard in the question type. Choose the type of flashcard you want to create, and our AI will generate questions that you can modify or delete as you wish.
You can then generate additional questions or add them directly to your course.
Import questions
You can import questions from a file or from Wooclap, among others. This way, you don’t need to recreate all your questions from scratch.
Customize your Flashcard
Once your flashcard is created, start by writing the text that will appear on the front (1). This is the prompt that will be displayed when you review the question. Then enter the text that will appear on the back of the card (2). This is the text or definition you will need to recall.
You can also set the feedback language (3), meaning the language in which the text will be read aloud if you enable the pronunciation button.
You can format your text or insert audio, an image, or a video using the formatting bar that appears when you click on a field.
Under Options, you will find three additional settings:
Display the pronunciation button allows you to listen to the text on the front and back of your card. This is especially useful if you are using Wooflash to learn a language.
Display the sides in a random order allows you to study both sides of the card: the front or the back will be shown at random. It’s up to you to recall the content on the opposite side.
You can also add a tag to your flashcard.
☝️ Note that the pronunciation and the languages available depend on the voice options supported by your device.
Reviewing a Flashcard
By default, the front of your flashcard will be displayed (unless random mode has been enabled). You must then say out loud what appears on the other side of the card. Once you’ve done this, click Show answer. You will then see the other side of the card and can determine whether or not you knew the definition or word.
If pronunciation is enabled for this flashcard, you can click the speaker icon at the top right of the card to hear the word pronounced.
